I have been asked this question a few times over the past year. "Do we have to invite them, just cause they invited us?" Now that I know the proper etiquette, I wanted to share.
If the Bride and/or Groom were invited to and attended another couple’s wedding, they should invite that couple, especially if the weddings are comparable in size. The exception to this rule is if the bride and groom have not spoken to the former bride or groom in over a year’s time.
